About me
As the City Events Manager for the City of Mobile, JeNyia Rocker oversees the planning and execution of the City’s signature events while leading the Event Services Division. She provides strategic direction for event programming and departmental operations, while overseeing event permitting and coordination, cross-department collaboration, budget management, vendor partnerships, and community engagement initiatives that bring together culture, community, and connection.
JeNyia joined the City of Mobile in 2021 as an Event Coordinator and was promoted to Events Manager in 2023. She has helped strengthen the City's events program through strategic planning, data-driven decision-making, enhanced marketing, and continuous program evaluation. Her leadership has focused on creating intentional, inclusive experiences that support community engagement and align with the City's long-term vision.
Prior to joining the City of Mobile, JeNyia served as Activities Director at Montrose Bay Health & Rehabilitation, where she developed therapeutic recreation programs, coordinated special events and community outings, and created meaningful experiences that improved residents' quality of life. That experience sparked her passion for designing programs that foster connection, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.
