About me
S. David Ramirez, CFEE, is an award-winning marketing and communications professional from San Antonio, Texas. He is the founder and principal consultant of SDMRamirez, LLC, a marketing and technology strategies agency. He is a faculty member of the IFEA/NRPA Event Management School and the Texas Event Management Institute. He is a guest speaker and facilitator for the University of Texas at San Antonio's Institute for Economic Development, where he has taught small business and community development workshops across Texas.
David serves on the International Festivals and Events Association Foundation and the Texas Festivals and Events Association boards. He is a mentor and facilitator at Geekdom, a startup accelerator. He consults with Pinnacle and Best-in-Texas award-winning events throughout the nation. He also works in B2B events, helping produce conferences like San Antonio Startup Week and WordCamp SA.
David got his start in events with resident camping, producing week-long summer camp programs for thousands of campers in the forests of New Mexico. Since then, he has worked on parades, film festivals, science fiction events, fandom activations, food festivals, art festivals, and conventions. He previously led marketing and communications at San Japan, an Anime and Pop Culture Convention, growing the event from a 900-person single-day activation to a 3-day 20,000-attendee convention. He helped launch the inaugural abilitySTRONG Disability Pride Parade.
